the experience of a lifetime

Study Abroad is a life-changing opportunity. Students report returning from experiences abroad with greater linguistic proficiency and cultural awareness, with lasting connections and friendships, greater confidence and motivation to continue learning languages and cultures, and greater maturity and self-efficacy.

Students can participate in GCSU faculty-led summer study abroad programs, in faculty-led programs offered through the University System of Georgia, in direct enrollment programs with our partner universities abroad, or in third-party programs vetted by the International Education Center. Programs last from several weeks to several months, and some students spend a full semester or even an entire academic year abroad. Pre-planning is key, and students should plan to meet with their advisors, the International Education Center, the Department of World Languages and Cultures, and the financial aid office.
